There has been lot of activity in Oil Industry in refining and oil exploration area. Refining capacity is added due to ever increasing demand. Exploration activites also depends on demand, but recent jump, is due to sustained high crude oil pricing.
The American Petroleum Institute said U.S. energy companies will need at least another 5,000 engineers by decade's end. Indian School of Mines University is one of the premier Institute in this area awarding Petroleum Engineering Degree - http://www.ismdhanbad.ac.in/depart/petro/academic.htm
